Patrick Dunne - Partner

Dunne brings more than 20 years of press experience in Asia and Canada to McHale & Dunne Public Relations. That translates into a network of editor relationships and knowledge of the press seldom found in the PR world. Dunne also offers clients a keen sense for graphic design, advertising and marketing communications acquired in more than a decade spent in newspaper and magazine design, production and management on both sides of the Pacific.

After starting his career at newspapers in British Columbia, Dunne traded in sports and community reporting for the excitement of Southeast Asian business and politics. In the mid 1980s, he joined the staff of the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong and subsequently combined his photography and journalism skills to cover the economic take-off of Southeast Asia’s fast developing economies.

In the early 1990s he helped launch electronics publications like Electronic Business Asia, Electronic Design News Asia and EDN China for trade magazine giant Reed Business Publishing. Dunne spent much of the 1990s meeting the leaders in Asia’s semiconductor industry from Tokyo to Singapore and charting the rise of China as the world’s manufacturing powerhouse.

Since 2000, Dunne has put his editorial and design experience to work in web consulting to help clients develop messaging strategies and design websites optimized for powerful business communication.
